Advisory

Flash Flood Watch until 12:00PM

A very slow moving line of showers and thunderstorms continues to creep across the forecast area this morning. Average area rainfall totals of 3 to 5 inches are already on the ground with some significantly higher amounts that have fallen. With the likelihood that rains from this line will continue over the next several hours, the flash flood watch is being extended. The Flash Flood Watch is now in effect for

* A slow moving front will result in thunderstorms producing heavy rainfall training over the same areas for several hours. Additional rainfall totals of 1 to 3 inches are still expected across much of area this morning, but localized areas with rainfall totals in excess of 4 inches could occur. Storm total rainfall of 3 to 5 inches with locally higher amounts has already occurred in some areas with a few locations receiving significantly more. This additional rainfall could continue to produce localized areas of flash flooding especially in low lying and poorly drained areas.
