December 18th:

Residential Burglary – 2300 block of Carquinez Avenue:
Between 1:18 pm and 7:06 pm, a residence on Carquinez Avenue was broken into through a basement window. The suspect ransacked the interior and stole property.

Stolen Vehicle – 11940 San Pablo Avenue:
An officer responded to the report of a vehicle stolen from in front of the business between the hours of 5:00 pm and 8:30 pm. A witness saw a woman getting into the car and driving away. No further description was available.

December 19th:

Hit & Run; Delay an Officer; Public Intoxication – Lincoln Ave at Liberty St:
At 1:00 am, officers witnessed a vehicle traveling west on Lincoln Ave at Liberty St. Both officers heard the distinct sound of a collision as the vehicle slowly sideswiped a parked vehicle. The officers attempted to check the welfare of the vehicle’s occupants, but the driver fled on foot, leaving a 20-year-old female in the front right passenger seat. The male driver was never located. The officers checked the female’s welfare and ultimately took her into custody for public intoxication. She was transported to the El Cerrito Police Department for booking. The female was later transported to the Martinez Detention Facility.

Criminal Threats – 2900 block of Santa Clara Avenue:
An officer responded to the report of threats made by one adult male towards another adult male during a child custody exchange. The investigation is ongoing.

Shoplifting - 670 El Cerrito Plaza (CVS):
An officer responded to the report of an unidentified suspect who entered the store, stole property, and fled out of the emergency exit.

Driving Under the Influence – Fairmount Avenue at Carlson Blvd:
An officer conducted a traffic enforcement stop on a vehicle and subsequently arrested the driver for DUI. The male was transported and booked at the El Cerrito Police Department. He was issued a citation and then released to a sober friend.

December 20th:

Residential Burglary – 500 block of Albemarle St:
Between the hours of 8:10 am and 5:30 pm, an unknown suspect forced entry into the residence, ransacked the interior, and stole property.

Residential Burglary – 7100 block of C Street:
An officer reports between the hours of 6:00pm and 8:00 pm, an unknown suspect shattered the rear door (glass), ransacked the interior, and stole property.

Residential Burglary – 900 block of Liberty Street:
Between the hours of 6:30 pm and 7:25 pm, an unknown suspect broke into the residence, ransacked the interior, and stole property.

Residential Burglary– 1400 block of Navellier Street:
An officer reports between the hours of 7:30 pm and 4:00 am, an unidentified suspect shattered the rear glass door and ransacked the second story while the homeowner was home and asleep in her bedroom (basement). No property was stolen.

December 21st

Auto Burglary – 6000 block of Potrero Ave:
An unknown suspect shattered the rear passenger window of the victim’s truck and removed a welding tool. The crime occurred between 7:30 pm on December 20th to 6:30 pm on December 21st.

Attempted Burglary, Attempted bicycle Theft and Possession of a Controlled Substance – 1500 block of S. 56th St:
At 1:37 pm officers were dispatched to a report of a male attempting to break into an apartment complex through the front door. As officers were en route, dispatch advised the male left the area on foot. An officer located the suspect, a 41-year-old male from Richmond, walking into the parking lot of 11299 San Pablo Avenue. As officers ordered him to stop, the male attempted to run but was immediately apprehended by officers on scene. The victim positively identified the suspect via an in-field show-up. The male was transported to the County Jail in Martinez.

Auto Burglary – Big 5 Sporting Goods 11060 San Pablo Ave:
At 6:47 pm, an officer responded to a call of an auto burglary and learned the window of the victim’s vehicle had been broken.

Fraud – 2600 block of Tuller Ave:
At 7:43 hours, an officer responded to a call of a fraud and learned a resident had unwillingly sent several thousand dollars to an unknown suspect over the internet.

Drunk in Public – Safeway 11450 San Pablo Ave:
At 11:07 pm, officers responded to a report that store security had detained a theft suspect. Officers spoke with the 34-year-old woman who was heavily intoxicated and was unable to provide a reasonable amount of care for herself. The woman was arrested and transported to the Martinez Detention Facility.

Theft – 6300 block of Lagunitas Ave:
At 5:00 am, an officer responded to a call of a theft and learned a suspect had removed a video doorbell from the porch of a residence but not before the suspect was captured by video.

December 22nd

Residential Burglary – 300 block of Behrens St.
An unknown suspect shattered the rear glass sliding door, entered the residence and ransacked the interior. The victim was not home at the time but was alerted by their alarm company at 7:56 am that their alarm had been activated. Witnesses saw a male adult walking away from the residence at the time the alarm was activated.

Public Intoxication – Denny’s 11344 San Pablo Ave:
At approximately 10:26 am, an officer arrested a 58-year-old male while investigating a disturbance. The male confronted a subject standing at the bus stop, called the subject several derogatory names and began to chase the subject. The male was heavily intoxicated and transported to the County Jail in Martinez.

Grand Theft-11060 San Pablo Ave (Big 5):
Two unknown suspects entered the business, selected approximately $1200 in merchandise and then fled the store without paying. The suspects got into an awaiting grey Nissan Altima being driven by an unknown person.

Auto Burglary – 1500 block of Liberty St:
At 10:30 pm, an officer responded to a report that a suspect shattered the window of the victim’s vehicle and removed tools and a laptop computer. The crime occurred between 8:00 pm and 10:00 pm that same evening.

Robbery – Big 5 Sporting Goods 11060 San Pablo Ave:
At 10:50 pm, officers responded to a report of a robbery and learned several suspects had entered the business and were attempting to leave without paying. As the group was contacted by a store employee, one of the suspects discharged a can of bear spray inside the store and onto the employee.

December 23rd

DUI – Terrace Dr / Colusa Ave:
At 7:03 pm, officers responded to a report of a solo vehicle collision and spoke with the 58-year-old driver who appeared to be under the influence of alcohol. The driver performed poorly on several field sobriety tests and was arrested and transported to the El Cerrito Police Department. The man was later issued a citation and released.

Auto Burglary – 6800 block of Hagen Blvd:
At 7:30 pm, an officer responded to a call of an auto burglary and learned someone had broken the window of the victim’s vehicle but had been scared away when the alarm was activated.
