DETAILS:  Ptl. Van Ness was detailed to Wegmans for criminal mischief to a vehicle. Investigation by Ptl. Van Ness and Det. J. Jones determined the following: The victim was driving her 2017 Dodge SUV around the parking lot looking for a parking space. After she parked and got out of her vehicle, Angela Scott cursed and yelled at her to slow down. While the victim was still shopping, Scott walked out of the store with groceries and then proceeded to scratch the Dodge SUV’s paint on the driver’s side and rear trunk. Scott then loaded her own car with groceries, and then walked back to the victim’s vehicle where she rammed her shopping cart into the side of it. On December 5, 2018, Scott was processed at WWPD Headquarters by Det. Jones and released pending a future date at Mercer County Superior Court.

Arrested: Nathaniel M. Booker, Black male, 36 years old

DETAILS:  Ptl. Insalaco was detailed to the Target store for a shoplifter being detained by store Asset Protection. Investigation determined the following: Nathaniel Booker was observed by Asset Protection selecting a backpack, and then filling that backpack full of various beauty supplies valued at almost $600.00. Booker then passed all points of sale and attempted to leave the store without paying when he was detained. Booker also had two active warrants for his arrest from West Windsor, one from Princeton, and four from Trenton. Booker was processed at WWPD Headquarters, and then transported to the Mercer County Correction Center.

Suspect: Black male, in his 20’s, thin build, low cut hair, wearing a green jacket with a  
               fur trimmed hood, and wearing khaki pants.

DETAILS:  Patrol units were detailed to a shoplifting in progress at the Home Depot involving a physical confrontation between the suspect and an employee. Investigation determined the following: A black male suspect in his 20’s, was observed by store employees filling his shopping cart with Milwaukee brand power tools, and concealing some of them into a tote. The suspect waited near the registers and then suddenly ran out of the store pushing the shopping cart full of merchandise. Two employees confronted the suspect outside, but he refused to stop. When a female employee knocked over the cart he was pushing, he took her iPhone. He offered to give the phone back if she let him go with the merchandise, but she refused. The suspect then grabbed her by the hair, struck her in the chest, and pulled her to the ground. He then pushed the cart to a tan colored sport utility vehicle, loaded approximately $2,000.00 worth of power tools into his vehicle and fled the scene prior to the arrival of the police.

LOCATION OCCURRED:  Residence in the Windsor Hunt Development

DETAILS:  Ptl. Nagy was detailed to a residence in the Windsor Hunt Development for a burglary that occurred overnight. Investigation determined the following: While the residents were sleeping, someone cut a small hole into a window screen at the back of the house. The window screen was then removed, the unlocked window behind it was opened, and the home entered. From the TV room, an Apple Macbook Pro and case, a Samsung tablet, and a smartwatch were stolen. The victims unlocked vehicle which was parked outside had also been entered and searched, but nothing was taken from inside.

LOCATION OCCURRED:  Orangetheory Fitness, 640 Nassau Park Blvd. &
                                                 352 Princeton-Hightstown Rd.
 
OFFICER:  Ptl. P. Buchanan #5109
 
DETAILS:  Patrol units were detailed to Orangetheory Fitness located in Nassau Park for burglaries to four vehicles. In each instance, a window was smashed and purses and other property were taken from inside the vehicles. Based upon information gathered from previous burglaries at Orangetheory locations, Ptl. Buchanan was detailed to the 352 Princeton-Hightstown Rd. location to surveil the parking lot. While there, Ptl. Buchanan observed a white 2018 Infiniti Q50 with dark tinted windows and a Florida registration, back into a parking space and turn its lights out. No one exited the vehicle while it was parked. Approximately two minutes later, the vehicle began driving around the parking lot with none of it lights on. As soon as Ptl. Buchanan positioned himself behind the suspicious vehicle, it sped away at a high rate of speed, went through a red light and onto Princeton-Hightstown Rd. Ptl. Buchanan pursued the vehicle with emergency lights and sirens activated, but the vehicle would not stop.  Ptl. Buchanan ultimately terminated the pursuit after weighing the need to apprehend against risk to the public.  The investigation continues….

Cuomo investigated a theft in which the following was reported:  Two (2) separate packages were delivered and left outside the doorway of an apartment in Princeton Terrace at approximately 12:00 PM on Dec. 3, 2018. When the victim checked for the packages at 3:00 PM, the packages had already been stolen.

DETAILS:  Ptl. Cuomo was detailed to a burglary to a vehicle at the Mercer County Park Tennis Center. The victim parked her car and took her dog for a walk through the park. When she returned to her car about 35 minutes later, she discovered that someone had smashed out a car window and had stolen her purse from inside.

DETAILS:  Yaritza Sanchez-Peralta came to Police Headquarters to attempt to have her vehicle released from impound. She presented Dispatcher Quinn with an insurance card that appeared fake. Ptl. Mahon confirmed that the insurance card was indeed fraudulent. Sanchez-Peralta was processed at WWPD Headquarters and released pending a future date at West Windsor Municipal Court.

DETAILS:  Ptl. Hojnacki initiated a stop on a white Ford pickup which was reported to be driving slowly and swerving all over the roadway. Ptl. Hojnacki’s own observations confirmed the erratic driving. During the stop, Erick Veliz was determined to be DWI. He was processed at WWPD Headquarters and released pending a future date at West Windsor Municipal Court.

DETAILS:  Ptl. Hojnacki initiated a stop on a silver 2005 Ford Mustang for speeding up to 84 MPH in a 55 MPH zone. During the stop, Joey Thomas was determined to be DWI, found to be a “Wanted” person by the Mercer County Sheriff’s Office, and found to have five (5) warrants for his arrest from Trenton. In addition, Thomas was found to be driving while under suspension for a prior DWI. Thomas was processed at WWPD Headquarters, and then transported to the Mercer County Correction Center.
