On December 21st 2018 at 11:53 am, the Absecon Police Department received a call in reference to an armed male. The caller reported that the suspect had fled from the residence in possession of a firearm with unknown intentions. The incident was in close proximity to the Absecon School Complex posing a potential threat to the children’s safety. The school was immediately placed on lockdown. After an extensive and thorough investigation involving multiple law enforcement agencies, the suspect was located and placed into custody.

Jesse Walker, 32, of Absecon, was charged with multiple weapons offenses and lodged in the Atlantic County Justice Facility. The Absecon Police Department was greatly assisted by the Galloway Township Police Department, the Egg Harbor Township Police Department, the Atlantic County Prosecutor’s Office, the Federal Bureau of Investigation, and the NJ State Parole Office.
