Duarte Crime Blotter for the week of 12-09-18 thru 12-15-18

Dear Duarte Community;

The following is a synopsis of crimes reported for the week of 12-09-18 thru 12-15-18
 
December 09, 2018
  • A Vehicle Burglary was reported in the 2500 block of Bloomdale Street.  Unknown persons smashed a window on a vehicle parked on the street, and stole a wallet containing approximately $180.    
 
December 10, 2018
  • A Grand Theft was reported in the 1800 block of 2ndStreet.  Unknown persons stole a $1,700 drone, a $900 camera and miscellaneous personal items from an unlocked vehicle that was parked in an apartment complex parking lot.  
 
December 11, 2018
  • While patrolling the 1800 block of Buena Vista Street, deputies contacted a female who was believed to be selling narcotics.  Upon making contact, the female told deputies she had a methamphetamine pipe in her purse.  After further investigation, the female was arrested for possession of methamphetamine and possession of narcotic paraphernalia.         
 
December 12, 2018
  • A Petty Theft was reported at 1263 Huntington Drive (Starbucks).  An adult male and female concealed a coffee tumbler under their clothing.  When they were approached by an employee and asked if they were going to pay for the item, they stated the tumbler belonged to them.  Both individuals then left the location in a blue Toyota Sienna.       
   
December 13, 2018
  • No significant activity.   
 
December 14, 2018
  • A Grand Theft Auto was reported at 1600 Mountain Avenue (Walmart).  A 1997 Honda Accord was stolen from the parking lot. The vehicle has not been recovered at this time.  
  • At approximately 3:30 pm, deputies responded to Buena Vista Street and Duarte Road, regarding a call of an adult male walking into traffic.  Upon arrival, they detained the male who was found to be in possession of a steel object with one end wrapped in a cloth.  After further investigation, the object was determined to be a make shift “Shank” which is commonly used as a stabbing instrument.  The male was arrested for possession of a dangerous weapon.  During the booking process, it was revealed the male did not give his true name, and deputies discovered four outstanding warrants for his arrest.
