December 10th:

Driving Under the Influence of an Alcoholic Beverage, San Pablo Ave./Blake St.:
At 11:25 AM, officers were investigating a reckless driving incident when it was discovered a 42-year-old woman was driving under the influence of an alcoholic beverage. The woman was arrested, booked and cite released.

Warrant – Cutting Blvd. at San Pablo Avenue:
An officer conducted a traffic stop and arrested the driver for a Contra Costa County warrant. The driver was booked at the El Cerrito Police Department and then released on a citation.

December 11th :

Stolen Vehicle Recovery, 5600 block of Ludwig Ave:
At 8:33 AM, an officer recovered a stolen Honda and it was released to the owner.

Public Nuisance / Disorderly Conduct (Public Intoxication): 5815 Cutting Blvd:
At 10:44 AM, an officer observed a 26-year-old man from Richmond urinating on the building. He was found to be heavily intoxicated. The man was booked and transported to the Martinez Detention Facility.

Grand Theft, Moeser Lane / Richmond St:
At 1:37 PM an officer responded to the report of a theft of a catalytic converter. Sometime overnight, the victim’s catalytic converter was removed by an unidentified suspect.

Driving Under the Influence of an Alcoholic Beverage, Potrero Avenue at S. 56th Street:
An officer conducted a traffic stop on a vehicle and found the driver to be under the influence of alcohol. The driver was arrested, booked, and cite released.

Driving Under the Influence of an Alcoholic Beverage, 11821 San Pablo Avenue (McDonald’s):
Officers were dispatched to a woman passed out and slumped over the wheel in the drive-through at McDonald’s. The woman was found to be under the influence of alcohol. She was arrested, booked, and cite released.

December 12th:

Auto Burglary, Peet’s Coffee - 9895 San Pablo Ave:
At 7:37 AM, an officer responded to the report of an auto burglary. An unidentified suspect smashed the window of a vehicle and stole a purse.

Warrant Arrest, Methamphetamine Possession, 10900 San Pablo Ave:
At 10:30 AM, a 26-year-old Richmond woman came to the police department to check on some property. It was discovered she had an ECPD burglary warrant for her arrest. She was arrested, booked and transported to the Martinez Detention Facility. During booking, officers found suspected methamphetamine in her purse.

Burglary- 2700 block of Arlington Blvd:
At 12:31 PM, an officer responded to the report of a residential burglary. An unknown suspect gained entry after breaking a window and stole several computers.

Grand Theft, 11565 San Pablo Avenue (Walgreen’s):
An officer was contacted by Walgreen’s security about a theft that just occurred. The officer saw the suspect vehicle and stopped it. The two suspects in the vehicle were found to have stolen over $2000 worth of products. They were both arrested and booked at the El Cerrito PD. One was an adult and was transported to Martinez Detention Facility, and the other was a juvenile and was released to a family member.

December 13th:

Package Theft – 2500 Block of Arlington Blvd:
An officer responded to a call of someone stealing packages from the front porch of a house earlier in the day.

Auto Burglary – El Cerrito Plaza:
An officer responded to a call of an auto burglary and discovered the victim’s Chevy Impala had its window smashed and a backpack was stolen.

Dec. 14

Commercial Burglary – 4040 El Cerrito Plaza:
At 10:22 am, an officer reports an unknown suspect entered the business by cutting the key box outside the business and removed the key. The suspect then entered the business, conducted a light ransack and stole electronics.

Auto Burglary and Evasion – 670 El Cerrito Plaza:
At 12:41 pm officers were dispatched to the El Cerrito Plaza for a report of a suspicious male looking into vehicles. Just before police arrival, an adult male broke into a vehicle, removed property and then left in a vehicle. An officer searching the area located the suspect vehicle on Central Avenue and attempted to conduct an enforcement stop. The vehicle failed to yield and fled from the officer.

Shoplifting – 11450 San Pablo Avenue:
At 7:41 pm, an officer responded to a report of shoplifting and accepted the citizen’s arrest of a 28-year-old male who had been detained by store security. The man was issued a citation and released from the scene.

Attempted Robbery – 11450 San Pablo Avenue:
At 10:31 pm, officers responded to a report that a male was lying unconscious inside the business after a confrontation with store security. Officers located a 41-year-old male who was suffering from a facial injury. Officers determined the man was a shoplifting suspect who had fought with store security.

Armed Robbery – 11299 San Pablo Avenue:
At 10:31 pm, officers responded to a report of an armed robbery and learned two masked suspects entered a business armed with a firearm, demanded money, and then ran from the business with cash.

Warrant Arrest – 10900 block of San Pablo Avenue:
At 1:26 am, an officer contacted a 38-year-old man who indicated he had two active warrants for his arrest. The man was later transported to the Martinez Detention Facility.

Dec. 15

Warrant Arrest – San Pablo Avenue and Schmidt Lane:
At 8:01 pm hours, an officer conducted a pedestrian stop and subsequently arrested a 44-year-old male who was a parolee-at-large. The male was booked and then taken to the county jail.

Warrant Arrest – 10000 of San Pablo Ave:
At 2:44 pm, an officer responded to a suspicious person at a business. Upon arrival, the officer contacted the male who was a wanted person out of Oakland. The male was taken into custody, booked and then taken to the Martinez Detention Facility.

Trespassing, Resisting Arrest – 11450 San Pablo Ave:
At 10:17 pm, an officer contacted a 26-year-old male inside a business who had previously been banned from the property. The male resisted arrest and was later transported to the Martinez Detention Facility.

DUI – San Pablo Avenue / Wall Avenue:
At 12:39 am, an officer contacted a 39-year-old male during a traffic stop and determined the man had been driving under the influence of alcohol. The man was arrested and later released from the El Cerrito Police Department with a citation.

Dec. 16

Shoplifting – 10650 San Pablo Avenue:
At 12:05 pm, an officer reports an unknown suspect entered the business, selected several items and then left the store without paying. The male was last seen walking towards the BART path.

Theft from Vehicle – 700 block of Liberty Street:
At 10:40 pm, an officer reports an unknown suspect entered an unlocked vehicle and removed miscellaneous paperwork.

Dec. 17

Domestic Battery – 7400 Park Vista:
At 10:58 am, officers report the arrest of an 18-year-old male and a 19-year-old female couple after they engaged in a verbal altercation while driving. At some point, both parties engaged in a physical fight. Both were arrested and transported to the Martinez Detention Facility.

Attempted Theft from Auto – 500 block of Liberty St:
At 8:14 am an officer reports an unknown suspect entered the victim’s vehicle and conducted a ransack, but no property was taken.

Theft from Auto – 500 block of Liberty St:
At 8:14 am, an officer reports an unknown suspect entered the victim’s vehicle and took a stun gun and cash. The victim heard sounds coming from outside and went outside where he saw two males walking down the street checking door handles.

Commercial Burglary – El Cerrito Plaza:
At 9:12 am, an officer reports an unknown suspect kicked in the front door of a business and then entered. While inside the business, the suspect removed $300.00 in cash. While taking the report, the officer was flagged down about two other businesses which also had damage to their doors, but no entry was made.

Shoplifting – 11500 block of San Pablo Ave:
At 9:35 am, an officer reports two unknown suspects entered a business, selected several items, and then left the store without paying. The suspects walked to an awaiting vehicle and fled the area.

Auto Burglary – 11500 San Pablo Ave:
At 4:05 pm, an officer reports an unknown suspect shattered both of the passenger side windows of the victim’s vehicle and removed property.

Possession of Controlled Substance, Warrant Arrest – 11565 San Pablo Avenue:
At 11:59 pm, an officer responded to a call of an unwanted person inside a local business. The 31-year-old man ran from the officer and was found to have a warrant for his arrest and a small quantity of methamphetamine. The man was later transported to the Martinez Detention Facility.
