The Office of Emergency Management advises residents that heavy rain and strong winds, with gusts between 35 and 45 miles per hour will occur later tonight through Friday morning. Rainfall totals are expected to be in the 1.25 – 2.50 inch range, however, there is a potential for localized spots of 3 – 4 inches. Poor drainage flooding is possible.
The main focus for the strong winds is expected to occur between 3 a.m. and 11 a.m. on Friday. The wind gusts will blow around unsecured objects. Tree limbs could be blown down and a few power outages may result.
To report downed wires or power outages, call PSE&G’s Customer Service line at 1-800-436-PSEG. Also, customers can report outages by logging into their PSE&G account online or by texting “OUT” to 4PSEG (47734). The utility’s mobile-friendly website includes an “Outage Map” that is updated every 15 minutes and displays the location and status of power outages in PSE&G’s service area.
Please use caution while driving as the heavy rain and strong winds will make driving difficult. Light-weight outdoor objects, such as patio furniture and garbage cans should be secured.
