Dense Fog Advisory until 08:00AM Thursday
Very moist surface conditions combined with light winds will result in areas of dense fog tonight and early Thursday morning. Visibility will lower to 1/4 mile or less at times. A deepening surface low will slowly move northeast of the area Thursday bringing a cold front through the area while strong high pressure builds. The interaction between the surface low and the surface high will lead to strong winds south of a line from Reserve to Morgan City. Elevated roadways and buildings in the New Orleans metro will also experience these very high winds. The National Weather Service in New Orleans has issued a Dense Fog Advisory, which is in effect until 8 AM CST Thursday.
