On Friday, December 14th, the Pomona Police Department Major Crimes Task Force with the assistance of the Pomona Police Department’s Special Weapons and Tactics Team (SWAT) served a search warrant at 1224 S. Garey Ave. Through gathered intelligence and a lengthy investigation, a warrant was obtained to address an illegal gambling casino operating at this location where several Pomona gang members congregated.
As officers executed the search warrant, they encountered over twenty subjects inside the location to include known Pomona gang members. Once everyone was safely detained, officers went inside the business and located an active casino equipped with various slot machines and gaming devices. Of the twenty individuals detained, (4) had outstanding warrants for various Parole and Probation violations.
Those Suspects were transported to the Pomona City jail and booked on their respective charges.
This investigation is still on going and anyone with information is encouraged to contact “Crime Stoppers.” The Pomona Police Department is dedicated to addressing quality of life issues and investigates all citizen complaints.
