Resident catches suspect breaking into his vehicle, deputies arrest Nicholes Lafrance for vehicle burglary & warrants

LOCATION: 12000 block of 8th Street
SUSPECT: Nicholes Lafrance, 25 years old, Loma Linda resident
SUMMARY:
On Thursday, December 13, 2018 at 11:01 p.m. a resident looked out of his house and saw a male subject who broke into his vehicle and was inside looking for items to steal. The resident confronted the suspect, who ran and got away. The resident got in his car and began searching for him while on the phone with 9-1-1. A few minutes later he observed the suspect in front of the Yucaipa Police Station and alerted deputies to his location as the suspect ran out of his view. Deputies arrived in the area and located the suspect near Yucaipa Blvd and 4th Street. He was detained and positively identified as the suspect, Nicholes Lafrance.
Lafrance is currently on parole for felony criminal threats. He had an active Riverside County felony warrant for possession of weapons/explosives, and a parole hold for violating the terms of his parole. Lafrance was booked into the Central Detention Center and is being held without bail. Lafrance is also restrained from coming near his ex-wife’s residence, a location he was less than a block away from.
Deputies believe Lafrance may have been involved in other thefts from vehicles in the area and residents are encouraged to report any such thefts. Anyone with information should contact the Yucaipa Station at (909)918-2305.
