Medication Drop-Off Event Tomorrow - This is a special event being held tomorrow December 14, 2018, between 10:30 am and 1:30 pm at the Lawrence Senior Center to dispose of unused and/or expired medication. Please see flyer for more details.



Beginning Friday, December 14, the intersection of Bergen Street and Gordon Avenue will be a Four-Way Stop. Please use extra caution in the area as motorists get accustomed to the new traffic pattern.



Holiday Closures and Trash Collection Schedule:

• Municipal offices will be closed on Monday and Tuesday, December 24 and 25 in observance of the Christmas holiday.
• No trash collection on December 25.
• Make-up trash pickup is scheduled for Saturday, December 22.
• Municipal offices will be closed on January 1 in observance of the New Years holiday.
• No trash collection on January 1.
• Make-up trash pickup is scheduled for Saturday, December 29.

Annual Colonel Hand Reenactment:  The 57th annual Colonel Hand Reenactment to commemorate the events of January 1, 1777 will be held on Saturday, January 5th. For more details see the attached.



Road Detour - The PSE&G utility pole replacement project has begun.  This project is expected to run until mid-February.  The project will necessitate a closure and detour of Cold Soil Road between Blackwell Road and Carter Road.  The detour will generally be in affect Monday through Friday between 9:00 am and 4:00 pm.  Motorists will be able to access homes, businesses, Terhune Orchards and the Princeton Child Development Institute during the times of the closure.  The detour route will be posted.



Driving Safety Tips - The Department of Environmental Protection would like to remind motorists to drive with extra caution during deer mating season. Please click here for the DEP press release with tips to help motorists stay safe on the roads.



Road Work

• US Route #1 Road Widening - NJDOT continues the Route #1 road widening project. Delays are expected as there will be lane shifts and closures in the southbound lanes between Nassau Park Blvd. and Quakerbridge Mall.  Please use caution in the construction area.
• Bakers Basin Road Work- Bakers Basin Road continues to be closed due to the Mercer County DOT bridge replacement project.  The closure applies to all vehicles, bicycles and pedestrians. Click here for more information.

Message from the Department of Public Works:
LEAF COLLECTION  PROGRAM CONTINUES.
During the months of November and December, the Public Works Department will ONLY be picking up leaves.

 

If you have any yard waste, you may take it to the Ecological Facility on Princeton Pike between the hours of 7:30 am and 2:30 pm, Monday through Friday.  The Ecological Facility is now closed on Saturdays.
