Incident Summary
 
On December 13, 2018 at 11:01 AM officers responded to a business located in the 100 block of Keller Street for a report of a bomb threat that had been sent to the business via email. 
 
At this time, there is no credible evidence related to the email.  Similar threats are being reported nationwide, and this email threat does not appear to be specific to Petaluma.  
 
If you receive this threatening email, do not click on the link.   The email reported that there was a bomb located in the building and demanded payment in Bitcoin by the end of the day or the device would be detonated.
 
The Petaluma Police Department is recommending that all businesses follow their organization's policies and procedures for handling suspicious packages and/or suspected bomb threats.  In the event that any suspicious packages or devices are located do not touch them and immediately report their discovery to your local law enforcement agency.
