Flood Watch in effect from Friday morning through Saturday afternoon for Eastern McDowell and the McDowell Mountains.

The National Weather Service in Greenville-Spartanburg has issued a

* Flood Watch for Eastern McDowell and the McDowell Mountains

* from Friday morning through Saturday afternoon

* Periods of moderate to heavy rain combined with snow melt. Storm
totals of 1.5 to 3 inches with locally higher amounts are 
possible.

* Minor to moderate flooding of streams to main stem rivers are
possible. Minor roadway flooding is also possible, especially
across areas with an extensive snow pack. 

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

A Flood Watch means there is a potential for flooding based on
current forecasts.

You should monitor later forecasts and be alert for possible
Flood Warnings. Those living in areas prone to flooding should be
prepared to take action should flooding develop.
