Unpleasant Odor Update 
South River residents may experience some unpleasant odors through the end of December as a result of improvements to the gas collection system at the Middlesex County Landfill located on Edgeboro Road in East Brunswick. Certain unfavorable weather conditions may exacerbate the odors at times.
The Middlesex County Utilities Authority (MCUA), which operates the Landfill, is coordinating the planned capital improvements. The MCUA anticipates that the improvements will result in fewer odor concerns in the future.
The Borough of South River and the MCUA appreciate residents' patience, understanding, and cooperation during this time. We apologize for any inconvenience this situation may cause.
