Loss Prevention officers from Kohl's Department Store (2950 Tapo Canyon Rd) noticed a man and a woman stealing merchandise. Once the two were outside, a Loss Prevention Officer confronted the pair near a vehicle in the parking lot. While contacting the suspects, the man pulled out a gun. The Loss Prevention Officer, fearing for his life, backed away as the vehicle drove off toward the 118 Freeway. The employee then contacted the police.

Responding officers searched the area but were unable to locate the suspects or their vehicle. The case will be turned over to the Simi Valley Police Department Detective Bureau for further investigation.
