STEELHEAD PERMIT REQUIREMENT:
In addition to a valid salmon gear license, ***a monthly steelhead permit***, obtained from the Tulalip Fisheries Department, is required for participation in this fishery. The permit is free of charge, is valid for one month, and must be present on all Tulalip vessels while fishing for steelhead. In order to obtain a steelhead permit for the following month, ***all steelhead catch from the previous weeks (previous permit) must be reported to the Tulalip Fisheries Department*** AND must be sampled by Tulalip Fisheries Staff. See details below.

CATCH REPORTING AND SAMPLING REQUIREMENT:
All Tulalip Tribes' harvest of steelhead, for whatever purpose, must be reported on fish tickets and must be sampled by Tulalip Fisheries Staff. Assurance that these obligations are met is the responsibility of the operator. Failure to report catch and to have steelhead sampled will result in the suspension of steelhead fishing privileges for the duration of the season.

The Tulalip Fisheries Department will assist in meeting this obligation by filling out fish tickets and sampling steelhead catch between 8:00 am and 4:30 pm on days the fishery is open, and from 8:00 am until 2:30 pm the day following the fishery. Please phone 425-754-2974 (or 360-716 4424, 360-716 46 27)to arrange for a Tulalip Fisheries Staff member to meet you at the Tulalip Marina or at the Tulalip Fisheries Department to sample your catch.

WEEKLY CATCHES THAT ARE NOT REPORTED OR SAMPLED BY 2:30 PM OF THE FIRST WORK DAY AFTER HARVEST, WILL BE CONSIDERED AS UNREPORTED CATCH, AND WILL RESULT IN SUSPENSION OF STEELHEAD FISHING PRIVILEGES FOR THE DURATION OF THE STEELHEAD SEASON.

OTHER RESTRICTIONS:
To minimize losses from marine mammal predation, nets must be attended at all times during steelhead openings. Any net left unattended for more than one hour, even when fishing is open, will be considered to be fishing illegally. Nets must be removed from the water after the daily closure and when the fisherman leaves the fishing grounds for more than one hour.

EGG SALES PROHIBITED: Direct sales of eggs are prohibited in this fishery. All fish must be sold as whole carcasses, with no eggs removed.
