Flash Flood Watch until 06:00PM Saturday

A low pressure system will bring a threat of heavy rainfall to the area Saturday. Generally 2 to 4 inches of rain are forecast across the area, with locally higher amounts possible. This rainfall will lead to rises on area rivers and could also lead to flash flooding if rainfall rates are high enough. The National Weather Service in New Orleans has issued a

* Flash Flood Watch for portions of southeast Louisiana and Mississippi. The watch includes the following areas in southeast Louisiana, Ascension, Assumption, East Baton Rouge, Iberville, Livingston, Lower Jefferson, Lower Lafourche, Lower Plaquemines, Lower St. Bernard, Lower Terrebonne, Orleans, Pointe Coupee, Southern Tangipahoa, St. Charles, St. James, St. John The Baptist, St. Tammany, Upper Jefferson, Upper Lafourche, Upper Plaquemines, Upper St. Bernard, Upper Terrebonne, and West Baton Rouge. In Mississippi the watch includes, Hancock, Harrison, and Jackson.

* From Saturday morning through Saturday afternoon

* 2 to 4 inches of rain are forecast across the area with locally higher amounts possible
