Arrest made after bicycle theft in Mill Valley

On Wednesday, 12/05/2018, at approximately 2:30 PM, the Mill Valley Police Department responded to Tamalpais High School for a reported theft of a bicycle that had just occurred from the school campus. Information obtained from witnesses on scene, as well as from the Central Marin Police Authority, led Mill Valley Police Officers to develop suspect information. That information was broadcast to outside local agencies.

Later that same evening, Deputies from the Marin County Sherriff’s Office located a male subject that matched the description in San Rafael. Through their initial contact, they determined that the subject was in possession of the bicycle that had been reported stolen earlier in the day. Mill Valley Police Officers responded to the Deputies location in San Rafael and through their investigation arrested Travis White, of Sausalito, for possession of stolen property and theft. White was subsequently booked into the Marin County Jail.

The Mill Valley Police Department is currently investigating to see if White can be tied to other similar bicycle thefts from the area.
