The National Weather Service in Shreveport has issued a

* Flash Flood Watch for portions of Arkansas, Louisiana, and Texas, including the following areas, in Arkansas, Columbia, Hempstead, Lafayette, Little River, Miller, Nevada, and Union. In Louisiana, Bienville, Bossier, Caddo, Caldwell, Claiborne, De Soto, Grant, Jackson, La Salle, Lincoln, Natchitoches, Ouachita, Red River, Sabine, Union, Webster, and Winn. In Texas, Angelina, Bowie, Camp, Cass, Cherokee, Franklin, Gregg, Harrison, Marion, Morris, Nacogdoches, Panola, Rusk, Sabine, San Augustine, Shelby, Smith, Titus, Upshur, and Wood.

* From Friday afternoon through Saturday afternoon

* Widespread rain, which may be heavy at times, is expected as a strong low pressure system approaches the area. Rainfall totals of 3 to 5 inches, with isolated higher amounts, are possible. Rain will persist into Saturday night before diminishing early Sunday morning, but rain rates should be considerably lower.

* Heavy rainfall may lead to flooding of low-lying and poor drainage areas as well as rivers, creeks, and streams.
