Beware new phone scam:
There is a new phone scam going around where the victim receives a phone call from 1(800)772-1213 with a caller ID of Social Security Administration. You are then asked to verify your social security number in order to continue receiving benefits from the government. In other circumstances the victim is advised there is a warrant out for their arrest and your social security number is needed to verify this.

Even though the 1(800)772-1213 is the legitimate Social Security Administration telephone number, the Social Security Administration will NEVER CALL and ask for your pedigree information. The scammers are calling under fake numbers that are disguised to appear as a legitimate number.
