PCH Closures for Caltrans Restoration Work in Burn Area begin Mon, 12/3
Caltrans will be conducting repair work beginning Monday, December 3, to restore infrastructure and stabilize hillsides in areas that were burned by the Woolsey Fire along a 20-mile segment of PCH in Malibu.
The right lane and shoulder on various segments of northbound/westbound PCH will be closed between Coastline Dr and Decker Cyn Rd (State Route 23) from 8:30 AM to 3:30 PM.
The work is scheduled to be performed six days a week, Monday through Saturday. Closures are weather permitting and subject to change.
Caltrans will be conducting multiple repairs along PCH, including the following work:
• Replacing damaged metal-beam guardrail
• Clearing drainage lines
• Removing burned debris
• Restoring damaged signs
• Applying netting along affected slopes for erosion control
• Installing silt fences along the lower end of burned slopes
Motorists should expect delays and are strongly advised to allow plenty of time to reach their destination. Additionally, motorists can check traffic conditions before they leave by visiting the Caltrans Quickmap at http://quickmap.dot.ca.gov.
