Press Release: Motor vehicle stop leads to arrest of driver for possession of heroin and prescription drugs

ACCUSED: Ian Nitto, Age 30, Long Branch, NJ
NARRATIVE:
On November 23, 2018 at approximately 10:29am Ptl Chris Mirrone was on routine patrol in the Borough of Deal when he observed a vehicle commit a motor vehicle violation on Ocean Ave. Ptl Mrrione conducted a motor vehicle stop of the accused vehicle on Cedar Ave in the City of Long Branch. Further investigation conducted by the officers involved revealed the accused subjects to be in possession of controlled dangerous substances.
Nitto was transported to Deal Police Headquarters for processing and charging. Nitto was subsequently charged with possession of CDS heroin, possession of prescription drug not in proper container and failure to turn over CDS to a law enforcement officer. in accordance with bail reform guidelines, Nitto was committed to Monmouth County Jail pending a court date.
