NARRATIVE:
On 11-29-18 at approximately 1100 hrs, members of the Pomona Police Department’s Special Investigations Unit, Major Crimes Task Force, and Detective Bureau executed four separate Search Warrants at known criminal Marijuana Dispensaries in the City of Pomona. Agents from the California Department of Tax Fee Administration also supported the Pomona Police Department with this investigation.
These Dispensaries have been operating illegally and have been contacted numerous times by Pomona Code Compliance Inspectors. The Inspectors have attempted to educate the owners about the violations of operating illegally. These locations have continually refused to comply with the City’s request to cease the illegal activities. Although the use of marijuana is legal in the State of California; the sales of marijuana remains illegal within the city limits. These investigations are sensitive and all efforts to stop the activities are exhausted before police action is used.
During the service of these search warrants, the teams recovered in excess of 138 pounds of marijuana, well over 6,600 miscellaneous marijuana related products and approximately $10,800 in US Currency.
One arrest was made in conjunction with the service of the warrants.
