Advisory

Rain forecast for #Malibu tonight & Thurs. Prepare for flooding, mudslides, power outages, hazardous road conditions & evacuation

Due to the forecast of rain tonight and Thursday, there is a heightened potential for post-fire mud and debris flows within the Woolsey Fire burn area in Malibu. Mud and debris flows are extremely unpredictable, and streets can be flooded or completely blocked by debris during a storm.

If you are in the burn area you should have a plan set if an evacuation order is made.

• Review evacuation routes, plan multiple routes out of your neighborhood.

• Prepare your family and animals for travel and extended stay away from home.

• Put your emergency supply kit in your vehicle.

• Back your car into the driveway and have a full tank of gas.

• Check in with neighbors and make sure they have a plan.

• Stay vigilant, monitor conditions and keep abreast of the situation.

• Evacuate when told to.

If you feel unsafe or believe you or your home is in danger, don’t wait for an evacuation order, leave the area.
