NARRATIVE:           On Wednesday, November 28, 2018 the Pomona Police Department – Major Crimes Task Force in partnership with:
 
Pomona Police Department – Special Investigations Unit
Pomona Police Department – Detective Bureau
California Highway Patrol – Baldwin Park Station
Los Angeles County District Attorney’s Office
Los Angeles County Probation Department
Los Angeles County Department of Children Family Services (MART)
Claremont Police Department
El Monte Police Department - Gang Unit
Taskforce for Regional Autotheft Prevention (TRAP)
 
Conducted a parole and probation sweep throughout the City of Pomona. The operation targeted known gang members and high risk offenders currently on probation, parole, and AB109. The purpose of the operation was to ensure individuals were in compliance with the terms of their release. The sweep, which lasted approximately 10 hrs, targeted approximately 80 locations. The operation resulted in the arrest of 12 individuals for probation, parole of other related criminal related violations. 11 of the 12 arrests were felony violations.
 
These types of operations have been carried out in years past and they are used as a valuable tool to combat violent crimes. It also provides officers with the opportunity to gather useful information which can be used to solve other crimes and the chance to identify new gang members that were previously unidentified.
 
The Pomona Police Department is appreciative of the continued support from our fellow law enforcement partners and their assistance in conducting this operation.
