The Burr Ridge PD has received information that our phone number is being "spoofed" and callers are asking for money. See message. 
The Burr Ridge Police Department has received information that someone has "spoofed" our telephone number (630-323-8181), and is calling people under the guise of wither the receiver having a warrant or an immigration issue. The caller then requests payment in the form of "Google Play" gift cards.
The Burr Ridge Police Department IS NOT calling, and will never call asking for money to be payed over the phone or internet.
If you receive a call of this nature where the caller is identifying him/herself as a Burr Ridge Officer, or your caller ID shows a call from the Burr Ridge Police Department, please make note of the date, time, and name of the person calling, and notify the police as soon as possible.
DO NOT provide any financial information to any person identifying themselves as a Burr Ridge Officer over the phone.
