Intoxicated Driver Causes Two Accidents in North Harris County.

District 1 North Patrol deputies have arrested and charged a 32-year-old man after causing two accidents that left one man injured and fleeing from a second accident while carrying his 6 year-old son.

Investigators say that Luis Daniel Guzman struck a 23-year-old man that was operating a motorcycle in the 12600 block of Veterans Memorial drive and Blackpool Place at around 8:20 p.m. Tuesday night.

Guzman was driving a Toyota Sienna along with his son in the backseat.

Witnesses say that Guzman did not stop after hitting the 23-year-old driver of the motorcycle.

The male suffered a possible broken leg from the collision and was transported to Houston Northwest Hospital in good condition.

A second accident involving Guzman was reported at Veterans Memorial and Bammel N Houston after his Toyota rear ended a woman’s vehicle and again he fled the scene.

Deputies said a witness reported seeing Guzman grab his son from the back seat of their now disabled vehicle and runaway on foot.

He then ran into the Willow Bend apartments located at 13900 block of Veterans Memorial, a short distance from the accident. Deputies found him a short time later.

While being questioned, he told deputies he dropped his son off at an apartment in the same complex.

The child was located and EMS was called to the scene after it was discovered the child suffered a laceration in the second accident. The child was released in good condition.

Guzman has been charged with Felony DWI with a child under 15 and failure to stop and render aid.
