Fairfield Police Department’s School Resource Officers deliver Thanksgiving meals to 72 families.

The Fairfield Police Department’s School Resource Officers partnered with Grocery Outlet, IHOP, Armijo Staff and Vanden Staff to provide Thanksgiving meals to 72 families throughout Fairfield.  This outreach was a result of police officers, school staff, and storeowners wanting to work together and give a little more to our community this time of year.

Fairfield Grocery Outlet donated 14 turkeys, and staff from Vanden High donated side dishes to make complete Thanksgiving meals for 14 families.  Fairfield IHOP donated 25 meal vouchers, and staff from Armijo High raised money to provide four IHOP meal vouchers to 58 families.

School Resource Officers, from The Fairfield Police Department, delivered the meals and vouchers to families during the Thanksgiving Holiday.  It’s not every day that an officer knocks at the door and provides a free meal to a family for Thanksgiving.  One family responded, “Thank you very much for this blessing of a Thanksgiving feast, this is a luxury we cannot afford ourselves.”

School Resource Officers, and school staff, work closely with teens in our community.  They wanted to take the opportunity to support families and help where they could.

Please have a safe and happy Thanksgiving.
