LOS ANGELES (Sat., Nov. 17, 2018) – The Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department is announcing the repopulation of the following areas impacted by the #WoolseyFire - effective Saturday, November 17, 2018 at 5:30 p.m.

The following areas inside of the impacted fire area will be opened beginning at 5:30 p.m. on Saturday:

This will include the following areas of Las Virgenes Road / Malibu Canyon Road:

o Malibu City limit (south)
o Mulholland Highway (north)
o EXCEPTION: A traffic closure remains in effect to westbound traffic on Mulholland Highway from Malibu Canyon Road

The opening re-establishes a second major traffic artery from the valley to the coast since the area was majorly impacted from the Woolsey Fire. As of 5:30 p.m., Topanga Canyon Road and Las Virgenes Road/Malibu Canyon Road will be available for all vehicle traffic.

Simply visit the link and enter an address for the #WoolseyFire area in the search field and press enter. You can then scroll out on the map to determine if the indicated area has a red or green background. Red indicates the area is still closed and unsafe to return. Green indicates the area is open for repopulation. In addition to the map, the above written descriptions of the areas to be opened has been provided.

The Fire Incident Command continues to monitor the active fire areas, as well as those areas remaining closed due to critical infrastructure concerns or safety hazards. Any future information pertaining to safety conditions and repopulation will be updated at the following link: www.LACounty.gov/WoolseyFire/

The Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department have a strong presence in the repopulated and evacuated areas for the next several days to ensure the protection of our residents and their property. All other road closures and evacuated areas for the #WoolseyFire remain in effect.

Federal Communication Commission rules under Section 255 of the Communications Act require telecommunications service providers to make their products and services accessible to people with disabilities, if such access is readily achievable. Where access is not readily achievable, service providers must make their devices and services compatible with peripheral devices and specialized customer premises equipment that are commonly used by people with disabilities, if such compatibility is readily available.
