SMPD Seeks Witnesses in Hit and Run Collision

The San Mateo Police Department is seeking witnesses and/or home security video of a hit and run collision that left a pedestrian injured in the area of 40th Avenue and Edison Street.
 
On Thursday, November 15 at around 6:40 a.m., San Mateo Police responded to the area of 40th Avenue and Edison Street on a report of a woman who was laying on the ground suffering from a head injury. When officers arrived, they located the victim and evidence indicating the woman was struck by a vehicle. The woman, a 52-year-old Belmont resident, was transported to a local hospital with moderate injuries. San Mateo Police traffic officers responded to the scene and assumed the investigation in collaboration with our Investigations Bureau.
 
At this time, we are asking for any witnesses to the incident or residents within the area that may have home security video capturing the incident to contact Sgt.
