Advisory

Mandatory evacuation area lifted for #Malibu residents from eastern city limit west to Corral Canyon, with proper ID only.

Updated Evacuation Information as of Thurs. Nov. 15, 2PM.

The lifting of the mandatory evacuation that was issued for the entire City of Malibu since Friday, November 9, due to the Woolsey Fire has been expanded today to include residences from the eastern city limit to Corral Canyon WITH ID ONLY.

The Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department (LASD) announced the repopulation of the following areas impacted by the Woolsey Fire effective Thursday, November 15, 2018, at 2:00 p.m.

The following areas inside of the City of Malibu will be opened to residents only:
• Pacific Coast Highway (PCH) from Webb Way (east) to the 25700 block of PCH (east of Corral Canyon)
• From the ocean (south) to the Malibu city limit (north) with the following
EXCEPTIONS:
• Pepperdine University will remain CLOSED
• Puerco Canyon Road will remain CLOSED north of the hard gate
• Corral Canyon Park and the Malibu Beach RV Park will remain CLOSED
• Malibu Canyon Road will be CLOSED north of Civic Center Way
• Malibu Road and the Malibu Colony neighborhood are open to residents

Please note, LASD personnel will be moving the checkpoint FROM PCH and Carbon Canyon Road TO PCH and Webb Way in the City of Malibu. Only RESIDENTS of the repopulated areas west of Webb Way in the City of Malibu will be permitted to enter this area. The area west of Corral Canyon will remain under a full mandatory evacuation order and those residents will not be allowed entry at the closures. Business employees are also not yet receiving entry to the city.

The following link can be used to assist the public in determining if their property is in an area that has been repopulated: https://goo.gl/sUCR5v. Green areas are open to RESIDENT ONLY; red areas remain under mandatory evacuation and are accessible only to emergency personnel.

Residents will be required to show a driver’s license or other official photo ID with their name and address within the zone where the evacuation order was lifted. If the photo ID shows a different address, additional documentation in the resident’s name and Malibu address, such as a passport, car registration or utility bill, must be presented with the photo ID. No individuals without such proof of residency will be permitted access.

Los Angeles County Waterworks District No. 29, Southern California Edison, and the Gas Company have confirmed that all the released addresses have water, electricity, and gas service. However, residents should be aware that water service is limited, water pressure is low, and intermittent, temporary power outages continue throughout Malibu.
