It appears as though we are to expect our first bout of winter weather for this season.  While forecasts vary on how much (if any) snow will accumulate, we can expect some combination of snow, sleet and rain.  Regardless of what form the precipitation takes, we urge motorists to exercise greater caution when driving in these winter weather conditions.  Allow yourself more travel time and slow down and increase your following distance when in traffic.  Clear snow and ice from your vehicle before you start out and remember to slow down and move over when approaching stationary emergency vehicles.  Consider that schools may dismiss students and staff earlier than normal, resulting in more midday traffic and more school children walking home from school.
