New Parking Ordinance that excludes certain vehicles from overnight parking on City streets. 
At the October 11th Council Meeting, based on a proposal from the Chief of Police the following ordinance was passed and takes effect immediately. The Police Department will begin enforcing this ordinance November 15, 2018.
"It shall be unlawful to park any backhoe, bulldozer or any other excavation equipment, bus, house coach, limousine, school bus, tractor-trailer, semi-trailer or combination thereof, stinger-steered automobile transporter, mobile car crusher, solid waste collection vehicle, concrete mixer truck, chemical/gas truck, fuel or oil truck, boat, boat trailer, utility trailer, truck trailer, dump truck, either by itself or in combination with a trailer, recreational vehicle or tow truck, on any City street between the hours of 7:00 p.m. to 6:00 a.m. This section shall not apply to vehicles and equipment used by public service utility companies when engaged in repairing or extending public service utilities, and municipal vehicles. The penalty for violating this subsection shall be $100 for the first offense and $200 for any subsequent offense."
"The Chief of Police is authorized and directed to remove or tow away, or have removed and towed away by a commercial towing service, any vehicle, boat, trailer or equipment illegally parked in violation of the above subsection and shall be stored in a safe place and shall be restored to the owner or operator thereof upon payment by said owner or operator, to the commercial towing service, of towing and storage charges. "
There appears to be an increasing number of these vehicles within our city which limits the amount of available parking to residents and takes away from the aesthetics of our neighborhoods.
