Incident Summary
On November 14, 2018, at approximately 2:19 AM, an officer patrolling the parking lot of the Quality Inn hotel at 5100 Montero Way observed a suspicious vehicle in the parking lot. The officer contacted two subjects inside the vehicle. When the officer contacted the subjects, the driver opened the door and large plume of smoke smelling of chemical exited the vehicle.
The driver initially provided the officer with a fictitious name but was later identified as Cesar Munoz of Le Grande. A records check of Munoz revealed that he was on probation out of Merced County and had two active arrest warrants.
Munoz was removed from the vehicle and a search was conducted. During the search a methamphetamine pipe was located where Munoz was seated, and 44 grams of methamphetamine was also located. Munoz was placed under arrest for the outstanding warrants, possession of drug paraphernalia, and possession of a controlled substance. Munoz was transported to Sonoma County Jail and booked into custody for the above violations.
The passenger contacted in the vehicle along with Munoz was released from the scene without charges.
