Sheriff Richard J Behnke Reports on 11/14/2018 at approximately 0001 hours his deputies responded to a personal injury crash on the corner of Brownsville Rd and Walnut Rd, Porter Township, Cass County Michigan. Initial investigation showed Brandon Vincent Lake, 33 year old Belding, MI resident, did not turn properly from Brownsville Rd onto Walnut Rd. The vehicle left the roadway and collided head on into a tree. Lake was transported by Newberg Ambulance to Elkhart General Hospital for injuries sustained during the crash. The use of Alcohol and Drugs are suspected in contributing to the crash. Deputies were assisted on scene by Newberg fire and ambulance. This accident is still under investigation
