Owensville man arrested for unlawful possession of a hypodermic needle.

On November 10, 2018, at 10:11 a.m., Gibson County received a 911 report of a "rolling" disturbance on County Road 850 West near County Road near Owensville, Indiana. Gibson County Central Dispatch sent officers to the area to locate the vehicles, and Sgt. Bruce L. Vanoven located the vehicles a Brown Toyota Rav 4 and a Black Buick Lacrosse on County Road 1000 South near County Road 850 West. Upon approaching the vehicles Sgt. Vanoven began a roadside investigation into the incident. At the conclusion of his investigation Sgt. Vanoven placed the driver of the Buick, 25 year old Cory Leister of Owensville into custody after discovering illegal drugs in the vehicle during his investigation. Mr. Leister was tranported to the Gibson County Jail where he was charged with Unlawful Possession of a Hypodermic Needle and Possession of Schedule III drugs without a Doctor’s Prescription. He remains in custody on a $750 bond.

Assisting Sgt. Vanoven in his investigation was Deputy U.B. Smith.

All Criminal defendants are to be presumed innocent until, and unless proven guilty beyond a reasonable doubt in a court of law.
