Lane closings are planned for the Bayonne Bridge, Outerbridge Crossing, Holland Tunnel and the George Washington Bridge this weekend and/or next week for ongoing construction and repair projects.

Bayonne Bridge:

  •   The bridge will be closed from 9 p.m. Friday, November 9, and reopen at 8 a.m. Saturday, November 10, for ongoing construction work.

  •   The bridge will be closed Monday, November 12, through Thursday, November 15, from 9 p.m. until 5 a.m. the following morning for ongoing construction work.

  •   The John F. Kennedy Boulevard off-ramp from the bridge has reopened, allowing travelers to use the exit to access downtown Bayonne.

Outerbridge Crossing:

  •   The bridge’s two high-speed E-ZPass lanes are closed to replace the toll system equipment on the gantry.

  •   One lane on the bridge’s westbound side will be closed from Monday, November 12, through Thursday, November 15, from 10:30 p.m. to 5 a.m. the following morning.

Holland Tunnel:

  •   One westbound lane in the tunnel will be closed during the overnight hours from Tuesday, November 13, through Thursday, November 15, from 11:59 p.m. each night through 5:30 a.m. the following morning.  These closures are needed for ongoing tunnel repairs.

  •   One eastbound lane in the tunnel will be closed during overnight hours from Tuesday, November 13, through Thursday, November 15, from 11 p.m. each night through 5 a.m. the following morning.  These closures are needed for ongoing tunnel repairs.

  •   One northern lane exiting the westbound tunnel and the adjacent southern lane on the 14th Street service road between Barnum Street and Marin Boulevard will be closed during daytime hours from 9:30 a.m. through 2:30 p.m. Tuesday, November 13, through Friday, November 16, each day. These closures are needed for a construction project.

George Washington Bridge:

  •   The ramp connecting the eastbound upper level of the George Washington Bridge to West 178th Street in Manhattan is closed for up to 12 months for deck replacement. Passenger cars seeking access from the bridge to local streets in Manhattan should take Exit 1 towards Route 9/Henry Hudson Parkway and follow detour signs to West 181st Street in the Washington Heights section of Manhattan.  Trucks over 13 feet, 6 inches in height will not be permitted to use the bridge during the duration of the project. Trucks under that height seeking access to local streets should take Exit 2 to Amsterdam Avenue.

  •   Beginning Sunday, November 11, two toll lanes at the Palisades Interstate Parkway toll plaza leading to the bridge will be closed permanently during peak periods, and three toll lanes will be closed permanently during off-peak times.  There will still be five active toll lanes during peak periods and four active lanes during off-peak hours.  The toll lanes are being taken out of service to reduce merging onto the ramp leading to the bridge, which will enhance safety.
