HWDPS detectives arraign suspect on multiple charges, including Bribery of a Public Official.
On Tuesday, November 06, 2018, at approximately 12:15 a.m., Harper Woods Police Officer Adam Lewis made an arrest of DWAN MICHAEL MILLER for possession of marijuana and resisting arrest. While in the back of the patrol car, MILLER attempted to bribe Officer Lewis. MILLER offered to pay Officer Lewis money if Officer Lewis would let him go and not arrest him.
On Wednesday, November 07, 2018 MILLER, a 20 year old Detroit resident, was arraigned in 32-A District Court in front of the Honorable Judge Daniel S. Palmer and formally charged with the following:
Count 1: Possession of Marijuana
Count 2: Obstructing a Police Officer
Count 3: Bribery of a Public Official
MILLER has a Preliminary Examination scheduled for November 21, 2018 at 1:30 p.m. in 32-A District Court. MILLER was given a bond of $15,000.00 10%. If convicted, MILLER faces up to 40 years in prison.
