Suspect in custody for larceny from auto, an alert resident reported suspicious person resulting in the arrest.

On Sunday, November 04, 2018 at approximately 7:27 a.m., a resident observed a suspicious male walking up driveways and looking into vehicles in the 19300 block of Woodland. The resident notified the HWDPS who immediately responded to the area. Our officers located the male and verified he had broken into three vehicles on Woodland Street. The suspect, who was stealing items of value left in the cars, was taken into custody.

On Wednesday, November 07, 2018, JOHN LANIER, a 21 year old Detroit resident, was arraigned in 32-A District Court in front of the Honorable Judge Daniel S. Palmer and charged with (3) counts of breaking into a vehicle causing damage. LANIER was given a $20,000.00 cash bond. LANIER has a Preliminary Examination date scheduled for November 21, 2018 at 1:30 p.m. in 32-A District Court.
