18-year old arrested for strong armed robbery and attack in Larkfield.

A Geyserville 18-year-old faces felony robbery, assault charges after attacking and stealing a backpack from a boy. The incident happened on Tuesday, November 6th at about 3:45 PM when Sheriff’s Deputies responded to a 911 call of a fight and strong armed robbery that occurred at Old Redwood Hwy and Cambria Wy in Larkfield. The caller gave dispatch a vehicle description of a silver Audi and a license plate.

Responding deputies found the car northbound on Old Redwood Hwy in the area of Fountaingrove Parkway. They made a traffic stop on the vehicle and contacted the driver and two passengers. Ultimately the deputies detained the rear passenger, identified as 18-year-old Dominic Morrison of Geyserville who had the victim’s backpack.

Through a series of interviews it was determined that Morrison saw the 16-year-old boy on the sidewalk with an expensive backpack which he wanted. Morrison got out of the car and confronted the victim who refused to turn over his backpack. Morrison then punched the victim in the face several times and slammed the victim to the ground and took his backpack from him. Morrison was arrested for felony robbery and felony assault causing serious bodily injury. The two other occupants of the car were cooperative and weren't arrested.

The victim, a 16-year-old Santa Rosa boy, was contacted with his parents at a local hospital. He stated he got off the bus from school and the Audi pulled up next to him. A passenger in the car, described as Morrison, confronted him about what gang he was in. When the victim told him he wasn’t in a gang, Morrison got out of the car and approached him, grabbed him, punched him in the face, slammed him to the ground and took his backpack. Morrison got back into the car and they left.

The victim suffered significant injuries including a dislocated shoulder and abrasions.

Morrison is being held in the Sonoma County Jail in lieu of $50,000 bail.
