A MESSAGE FROM THE CLERKS OFFICE OF THE BOROUGH OF ENGLISHTOWN

Attention Voters who were issued a Vote by Mail Ballot for the 2016 General Election:

On August 10, 2018 Governor Murphy signed Senate Bill 647 mandating that until the County Clerk is informed in writing that a Voter no longer wishes to Vote by Mail, the County Clerk's Office is required to send a Vote by Mail Ballot for the upcoming November 6, 2018 General Election, and all future elections, to any Voter who was issued a Vote by Mail Ballot during the 2016 General Election.

The new law also changes the deadline for the return of Vote by Mail Ballots.

The new law allows for Vote by Mail Ballots to be accepted by the Board of Elections by mail within 48 hours of the Close of the Polls on Election Day, provided that the envelope is post marked by Election Day.

If a Vote by Mail Ballot was been issued to you, you MAY NOT Vote on the Voting Machine during the General Election on November 6, 2018 or at any future elections until you inform the County Clerk in writing that you no longer wish to Vote by Mail.

If for any reason you are unable to Vote using the Vote by Mail Ballot, or you choose not to do so, you may Vote on Election Day at the Polls by requesting a Provisional Ballot.

Accordingly, you are limited to Voting on your Vote by Mail Ballot or by requesting a paper Provisional Ballot at the Polls on Election Day.

Please contact the Clerk of Elections Office at 732-431-7790 if you have any questions.
