Possible significant storm in our area this weekend. Prepare for power outages storm surge w beach erosion.

We are monitoring the potential for a significant winter storm to impact the region this weekend. This event could start with light precipitation Thursday night and continue until Monday. With astronomically high tides already the storm surge could cause significant coastal flooding. Heavy wet snow as well as rain, ice and wind are likely to cause power outages. Residents are urged to have food, water batteries and a safe alternate heart source. We will continue to monitor and update as necessary.
At this point if the storm progresses as forecast we anticipate closing parts of Perkins Cove, Marginal Way, all beach lots as well as the beach itself and part of Israel Head and Stearns Road.
Residents may contact the Ogunquit Police Department 646-9362 with any questions.
