Location:                 100 block Rocca Drive, Petaluma
Suspect(s):             Salomon Huitron, 27 year old Petaluma resident

Incident Summary

Petaluma PD officers were dispatched to a disturbance between neighbors in the 100 block of Rocca Drive.  The disturbance involved Salomon Huitron, who was known to officers following his alleged harassment of the neighbor and vandalism to that person’s vehicle since mid-October.  Huitron refused to cooperate during any of the prior incidents and displayed behaviors to suggest he would resist officers.  Due to the damage, a felony arrest warrant was obtained.

When officers arrived, they saw Huitron retreat into his residence, as he had done during the past incidents.  Due to the warrant, officers pursued him and attempted to enter his residence.  However, he barricaded his front door with his body in an attempt to resist the arrest.  Officers eventually entered, and he retreated to his backyard, where he refused to follow commands to stop resisting.  At one point, officers believed he was either taking up a fighting or defensive escape stance despite the threat of Taser use.  He continued to refuse all commands and the Taser was deployed, after which, he continued to fight officers as they attempted to take him into custody.

Huitron was eventually arrested and treated for minor injuries.  He was then booked into the Sonoma County Jail for the warrant and resisting arrest.  None of the involved officers were injured.
