Irwindale PD Participating in "No-Shave-November" to Raise Awareness of Men's Health Issues!

Irwindale Police Chief Ty Henshaw is pleased to announce that beginning Tuesday, November 1, 2018 and continuing through the end of November, the Irwindale Police Department will again participate in “No-Shave November” to raise awareness of men’s health issues such as prostate and colon cancers.

The Irwindale Police Department believes that a healthy community is a happy community. When people are healthy, it has a positive impact on their physical, mental, and social well-being.

We also believe that as a law enforcement agency, we are in a unique position to have a positive impact on the community through our many interactions with them in a variety of situations. To help us encourage living a healthy lifestyle through these interactions, the Irwindale Police Department is participating in “No-Shave November” throughout the month of November. “No-Shave November is a worthy nationwide cause that raises awareness of men’s health issues and helps to support healthy and stress-free lives.

For a small donation, male Irwindale police officers and staff members have the option of wearing facial hair (a moustache, goatee or beard) throughout the month of November. Female police officers and staff members have the option of wearing a flower arrangement or bows in their hair. The facial hair for the men and hair arrangements for the ladies are intended to stimulate conversations with the community about men’s health issues and to encourage a healthy lifestyle.

We invite the public to support our efforts by making a small donation directly to our “No-Shave November” Team Page at:

https://no-shave.org/team/Irwindale_Police_Department

All donations raised during our “No-Shave November” efforts will go to support cancer and/or men’s health related issues and to the “No-Shave November” organization, a 501(c)(3) charity.

Police officers always have a plan whenever we need to solve a problem. Like our police officers, we encourage everyone to have a plan to detect the serious diseases impacting men in their early stages, as well as in leading a healthy and happy lifestyle.
