Wilmington Police have identified this morning’s homicide victim as DWAYNE WRIGHT, 38-years old, of Wilmington.

At approximately 1:36 am, Wilmington Police responded to the 200 block of S. Franklin Street for a ‘shots fired’ complaint.

Upon the officer’s arrival, they located WRIGHT, who was suffering from a gunshot wound.  Officers and medical personnel attempted life saving measures, however WRIGHT succumbed to his injury.

A second male victim, 44-years old, responded to the hospital suffering from a gunshot wound.  He is in stable condition.

This is an on-going investigation.
