Phone Scam- Callers Posing as Members of Law Enforcement 
Over the last several days, a number of northern Westchester residents have reported receiving calls from persons claiming to be law enforcement officers. Callers have asked victims to verify personal information. Caller ID info has reportedly been altered to display legitimate police department numbers.
If you receive such a call, do not give any information about yourself or another person. Ask the caller for his or her name, rank, badge number, police department and the department's MAIN NUMBER. You can then call the department's main number to determine whether or not the original call was legitimate.
