Oct. 23rd:

Shoplifter – Walgreens, 11565 San Pablo Ave.
At approximately 3:50 pm, an officer saw a 57-year-old Richmond man stealing from Walgreens. The male was on felony probation for theft. The male was arrested, booked at the El Cerrito Police Department and transported to the Martinez Detention Facility.

Warrant Arrest - McDonald's, 11821 San Pablo Ave:
At approximately 5:08 pm, officers responded to a call of a male exposing himself inside the restaurant. A 29-year-old male from Richmond was contacted outside but immediately fled. Officers chased him eastbound on Wall Ave to the BART path. The male was apprehended on MacDonald Ave. at Carlston Ave. The indecent exposure at McDonald’s was unsubstantiated, but the male was wanted on a felony warrant. The male was arrested, booked and transported to the Martinez Detention Facility.

Vehicle Burglary – Ross, 11545 San Pablo Avenue:
At approximately 5:30 pm, an officer responded to Ross for the report of a vehicle burglary that just occurred. A witness saw a suspect get out of the passenger seat of a black BMW and shattered the right front window of the victim vehicle. The suspect stole a backpack.

Vehicle Burglary – Nations 6060 Central Avenue
At approximately 5:50 pm, officers were dispatched to the report of a vehicle burglary that just occurred. The victim parked their car in the parking lot and found it had been burglarized. The suspects were in a black BMW and fled before police arrival.

Residential Burglary – 100 block of Carmel Avenue:
The homeowner reported between August 2018 and October 22nd at 1000 hours an unknown suspect gained entry into the home through a broken window. It is unknown if anything was removed from the home.
Driving Under the Influence – San Pablo Avenue near Waldo Lane:
At 10:30 pm an officer made a traffic enforcement stop for a vehicle code violation and subsequently arrested the driver for DUI. After booking the driver was released on a citation to a family member.

October 24th:

Possession of a cocaine pipe, Shoplifting, Trespassing; 5200 block of Wall Ave:
At 8:55 am, officers responded to an interrupted residential burglary. A fifty-year-old male from Richmond was confronted by the victim inside a shed. The male fled the area on foot but was located at the Del Norte BART station. The male was found to be in possession of drug paraphernalia and 13 quarts of ice cream which officers learned, that he had just stolen from Walgreens in El Cerrito. The male was arrested, booked at the El Cerrito Police Department and transported to the Martinez Detention Facility.

Brandishing and Criminal Threats – 700 block of Liberty Street:
Officers were dispatched to a person with a gun call at approximately 7:53 pm. There was a dispute in the home over money, and the suspect pulled out a handgun and threatened to shoot the occupants of the home. The suspect fled on a bicycle. Officers looked for the suspect but did not locate her.

Residential Burglary – 5800 block of Avila Place:
The homeowner reported the residence was burglarized between 9:00 am and 9:20 pm today. An unknown suspect shattered a window, reached in to steal an item, and fled the scene.

Possession of drug paraphernalia and a controlled substance - Liberty Street near Fairmount Avenue:
An officer conducted a pedestrian stop on an individual, and while he was dealing with him, the individual decided to run away. A very short foot pursuit ensued and the person was caught. He was found to have a warrant for his arrest. A search of individual revealed suspected methamphetamine and drug paraphernalia. The subject was transported to the Martinez Detention Facility.

Driving Under the Influence – San Pablo Avenue near Eastshore Boulevard:
At 3:03 am officer conducted a traffic enforcement stop on a vehicle and subsequently arrested the driver for DUI. The individual was cited and released to a sober friend after booking.

October 25th

Stolen Vehicle – 2200 block of Humboldt Ave.
At approximately 9:38 am hours, an El Cerrito Community Service Officer reports that an unknown suspect stole the victim’s green 1996 Honda Accord.

Recovered Stolen Vehicle – 2200 block of Humboldt Ave.
At approximately 12:33 pm, an El Cerrito Community Service Officer CSO located the victim’s blue 2000 Chevrolet Pickup, which was reported stolen to the Pinole Police Department on Tuesday 10-16-18. When the victim arrived to pick up his truck, they located miscellaneous construction items in the bed of the truck, which did not belong to them.

Residential Burglary – 1100 block of Richmond Street:
The homeowner reported that an unknown suspect entered their car in the carport area and used the garage door opener to open the garage door. The suspect then entered the garage and stole a bicycle. The time of the theft was at approximately 7:10 pm.

Possession of Burglary tools and Probation Violation – 300 block of Ramona Avenue:
At approximately 3:54 am, officers were dispatched to the area for the report of a vehicle parked on the driveway of a vacant house and people near the vehicle. Officers contacted two individuals, and one of them was on probation. Officers searched the probationer and found he was in possession of burglary tools. He was arrested and transported to county jail in Martinez.

October 26th

False Identification and Warrant Arrest – Churches Chicken 11575 San Pablo Ave. –
At 9:46 am, the victim of physical assault from last week called 911 and stated that the suspect was sitting on a bench in front of the restaurant. Officers contacted a 34-year-old female who was uncooperative and provided a fake name. Officers located paperwork, with her correct name on it, in her suitcase and learned that she had a warrant out of Contra Costa County for assault. The female was arrested, booked at the El Cerrito Police Department and transported to the Martinez Detention Facility.

Possession of a Controlled Substance, Possession of Drug Paraphernalia, False Identification and Probation Violation – Ross 2000 El Cerrito Plaza
At approximately 3:18 pm, officers were dispatched to an unwanted subject inside the store and contacted a 32-year-old male from Richmond. The male provided his friend's name to police officers, but an officer recognized the name as belonging to another subject. Officers searched the male and located a small plastic baggie of methamphetamine and a pipe used to smoke methamphetamine on his person. The male was also on felony probation out of Contra Costa County for vehicle theft and escaping from jail. The male was arrested, booked at the El Cerrito Police Department and transported to the Martinez Detention Facility.

Shoplifting – Walgreens 11565 San Pablo Avenue
At 7:57 pm, an officer responded to a call of a male who concealed approximately $300 worth of merchandise before fleeing the store.

Auto Burglary – Los Moles 6120 Potrero Avenue
At 9:19 pm, an officer responded to a report of a vehicle burglary where a window was broken and items were removed from inside the vehicle.

Possession of Stolen Mail – Knott Avenue / San Pablo Avenue
At 1:31 am, an officer made a vehicle stop and contacted a 38-year-old Vallejo woman and a 39-year-old Vallejo man. The woman was found to be in possession of mail belonging to several residents in El Cerrito and was placed under arrest. The male was released, and the woman was later transported to the Martinez Detention Facility.

Possession of Burglary Tools, Possession of Drug Paraphernalia – San Pablo Avenue / Knott Avenue
At 2:36 am, an officer located a 37-year-old Vallejo man inside a vehicle which did not belong to him. The man was arrested for being in possession of burglary tools and drug paraphernalia.

October 27th

Auto Burglary – 11800 block of San Pablo Ave:
At 10:54 am, officers were called to a report of an auto burglary which just occurred. A witness was standing outside the business when they saw a suspect reach into a vehicle and remove a laptop bag. The suspect then got into an awaiting vehicle which fled the area.

Possession of Controlled Substance, Probation Violation, Warrant Arrest – Dennys 11344 San Pablo Avenue
At 1:38 am, an officer entered the business and located a 39-year-old El Sobrante man who had a warrant for his arrest. After arresting the man, the officer determined the man was in possession of methamphetamine and transported him to the Martinez Detention Facility.

October 28th

Stolen Vehicle Recovery – 6500 block of Barrett Ave:
At 7:10 am, officers responded to a report of a vehicle parked oddly in the roadway. An officer arrived and discovered the owner lived nearby. The officer contacted the owner who stated the vehicle was supposed to be parked in front of his residence. The owner did not move his vehicle, and it appeared a suspect attempted to steal the vehicle. The vehicle was recovered and returned to the owner.

Auto Burglary – El Cerrito Plaza:
At 10:50 am, an officer reports an unknown suspect shattered a window to the victim’s vehicle and searched through a backpack but did not remove any items. A witness informed officers a suspicious male in the parking lot earlier and appeared to be looking into vehicles. The male left the area before police were called.

Attempted Robbery – BART path / Lincoln Avenue
At 9:58 pm, an officer responded to a call of two men with pieces of wood chasing a man on a bicycle. The man believed the two individuals were trying to rob him and rode off to call the police.

Robbery – BART path / Eureka Avenue
At 10:00 pm, an officer responded to a report that the victim had been robbed while walking to the BART path from his nearby home. The man was struck from behind by two suspects who hit the man with pieces of wood before stealing some of his personal property.

Domestic Battery – 900 block of Elm Street
At 11:21 pm, an officer responded to a call of an argument between and boyfriend and girlfriend which had turned physical. Officers arrested a 31-year-old El Cerrito woman who had struck her boyfriend. The woman was later transported to the Martinez Detention Facility.

Commercial Burglary, Possession of Burglary Tools – Launderland 11785 San Pablo Ave
At 3:43 pm, officers responded to report of a male suspect inside the business. Officers arrived and established a perimeter around the business where they observed a 62-year-old Berkeley man prying open change machines inside. The man attempted to flee the business but was quickly apprehended and arrested. The man was later transported to the Martinez Detention Facility.
