NARRATIVE:
On 10-23-2018 Detective Jesse Orbach stopped a motor vehicle at approximately 10:00 am in the area of Neptune Blvd. and made contact with the driver and passenger who were identified as Thomas Whartnaby, Ocean Twp and William Galayda, Jackson. Orbach was assisted by Detective Michael Melody and Detective Sergeant Patrick Martin.
Further investigation revealed that both Whartnaby and Galayda were in possession of heroin, drug paraphernalia and hypodermic needles. Both subjects also had active criminal warrants for credit card fraud, theft by deception and receiving stolen property following an investigation led by Det. Walker. That investigation revealed that both subjects were in possession of stolen credit cards and were used to purchase items throughout Ocean Township. They were processed and eventually transported to the Monmouth County Correctional Institution pending first court appearance.
