Below are some cases from the past few days that may be of the community’s interest.
 
Street Robbery
On October 18^th at 10:10 pm, a woman was inside her tent on the 2000 block of Haste Street when a suspect attempted to pull the tent of the woman.  When the woman came out of the tent, the suspect threatened to shoot the woman if she did not give him her cell phone and cash.  The woman then ran away from the suspect.  After being alerted by witnesses in the area, officers responded to the scene and were able to locate the suspect a few blocks away.  The suspect (Sidney Norris Atkins Jr., Male, 18 years old, Oakland, CA) was arrested on suspicion of robbery.

Patrol Officer Arrests Drug Dealing Felon
On October 21^st at 9:29 am, an officer driving on Adeline Street saw a suspect conducting a “hand-to-hand” drug sell on the corner of Adeline and Fairview Street.  Although the suspect attempted to elude the officer, the officer detained the suspect nearby.  When officers searched the suspect, they discovered he was wearing body armor.  After retracing the suspect’s path, officers soon discovered a handgun that the suspect hid in the bushes as well as a quantity of Heroin. The suspect (Dejon Lamaur Disburke, Male, 43 years old, Oakland, CA) was arrested on suspicion of multiple drug and gun possession related offenses.

Felony Battery
On October 22^nd at 4:10 pm, a man was attacked by two suspects right next to his parked vehicle in a parking lot at the corner of San Pablo Avenue and University Avenue.  When emergency personnel arrived, the unconscious man (age 28) was taken to a local trauma center with moderate injuries to his head and face.

Laptop Theft
On October 22^nd at 5 pm, a man was standing in the open sitting area of a restaurant on the 2100 block of Shattuck Avenue—with a menu in one hand and his laptop in the other.  As he looked at the menu, three suspects surrounded him and took his laptop from his hand.  The suspects were last seen running away southbound on Shattuck Avenue.
 
Street Robbery
On October 22^nd at 9:30 pm, a woman was standing on the 2100 block of Shattuck Avenue when three suspects approached her from behind and tried to pull her shopping bag from her shoulder.  After a struggle, the three suspects were able to pull the shopping bag from her and ran away—westbound on Addison Street.

Laptop Theft
On October 24^th at 4:22 pm, a woman was inside a coffee shop on the 2500 block of Telegraph Avenue when two suspects took her laptop and ran away.

Gun Recovered during Vehicle Stop
On October 25^th at 12:54 am, officers conducted a traffic enforcement stop on at Sacramento Street and Alcatraz Street.  When they searched the vehicle, officers discovered a loaded handgun underneath the driver’s seat and a quantity of marijuana.  The suspect (Terrance James Smith, Male, 31 years old, Oakland, CA) was arrested on suspicion of carrying a loaded concealed firearm.

Attempted Robbery
On October 25^th at 4:44 am, a man was standing on the corner of San Pablo Avenue and Dwight Way when a vehicle drove up and the two occupants tried to take his recycling.
