On Tuesday, October 24, 2018, at approximately 12:45 p.m., The New Castle Police responded to a residence on Pond Hill Road for a report of a home invasion. Police are currently investigating a report of an unknown female who unlawfully entered an occupied residence after displaying what appeared to be a firearm and stole property.
The area surrounding the residence was thoroughly searched by Officers from the New Castle Police Department, the Westchester County Department of Public Safety and the Town of Mount Pleasant Police Department. We have no reason to believe the suspect is still in the area or a threat to our residents.

This is an ongoing investigation and only limited information will be released at this time.
The New Castle Police Department also reminds the public to lock and secure all doors and windows on homes, apartments, and vehicles as well as keep a patio or porch light illuminated or on a motion sensor during nighttime hours.
